Our Human Resources Policy

Processes within the Holding and Group companies are managed in accordance with the Beyçelik Holding Human Rights Policy, and all employees are required to comply with this Policy.


BEYÇELİK HUMAN RIGHTS POLICY

PURPOSE AND SCOPE

Acting in accordance with internationally recognised human rights principles in our relationships with our employees, customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and institutions and organisations with which we communicate is our top priority. We aim to provide a respectful working environment for our employees. The Human Rights Policy, prepared based on these values and objectives, is guided by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions, and the United Nations Global Compact. The Human Rights Policy supports the Beyçelik Holding Business Ethics Rules published on 1 July 2017.

The Human Rights Policy applies to all companies within the Beyçelik Group. The policy has been established to guide internal company relations and the relations of all employees with customers, suppliers, each other and other stakeholders.

BASIC PRINCIPLES

Respect for Humanity, Equal Opportunities

  • We support and respect internationally recognised human rights principles.
  • We do not tolerate verbal or physical harassment in the workplace under any circumstances.
  • We do not discriminate among our employees on the basis of age, race, gender, belief, language, religion, nationality, marital status, sexual orientation, seniority, political opinion, military status, or disability.

  • We evaluate the competencies and performance of our employees through systems established by Human Resources based on objective criteria. As a result of this evaluation, we provide opportunities for the career and development of each employee in a way that creates equal opportunities for everyone. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, seniority, political opinion, military status, or disability.

Working Hours and Salaries

  • We apply our working hours in accordance with the procedures and principles specified in the labor law.
  • We establish our remuneration policy based on the sector and local labor market, without discrimination, for work of equal value.

Occupational Health and Safety

  • We provide our employees with a safe and healthy working environment.
  • We follow and comply with all local laws to ensure the health and safety of our employees.
  • We regularly inform our employees about occupational health and safety regulations and how to apply them correctly.

Education and Development

  • We believe that the most important investment we make is in our employees, and we support them with ongoing training for their personal development.

Forced Labor and Child Labor

  • In accordance with the Regulation on the Procedures and Principles for the Employment of Children and Young Workers, and in line with our corporate human resources approach, we do not employ workers under the age of 18.
  • We prohibit practices that violate the freedom of employment and work through the use of coercion or threats, or other unlawful conduct.

  • We respect the freedom of employees to form unions and ensure that the right to collective bargaining is effectively recognized.

Environment

  • We manage all our activities and investments with the goal of sustainable growth.
  • We act with a sense of responsibility towards our environment and take the necessary precautions during our activities.

Data Privacy

  • We take measures to protect the personal data of our employees and apply the standards specified in the relevant laws and regulations.

Application

  • At Beyçelik, we aim for all our employees to have honest and respectful relationships with each other, and we work to provide the necessary working environment for this.
  • We expect our employees to embrace and comply with our Human Rights Policy.
  • We work to identify potential issues that could negatively impact human rights compliance arising from our activities and to prevent them.
  • We expect our suppliers and business partners to act in accordance with our Policy.
  • Beyçelik is responsible for conducting the necessary work to inform and raise awareness on the subject in order to ensure that its employees act in accordance with the policy.
  • Feedback or complaints regarding compliance with the Human Rights Policy should be sent to the Ethics Committee email address ([email protected]).
  • Written reports submitted to the Ethics Committee regarding behaviour and practices that are not in line with the Human Rights Policy are investigated by the Ethics Committee. Investigations are conducted in confidence. No retaliation may be taken against an employee who submits a report.
  • The provisions of the Human Rights Policy are reviewed annually by the members of the Ethics Committee and revised as necessary.
